Happy Thanksgiving!

There are so many gifts God has given us and although it may be easy to say "thanks" on this one day, do our hearts really reflect with gratitude? There is so much darkness in the world and especially now, we tend to hear only the negative. Today I will challenge myself to focus on the positive and not get bothered by the slightest annoyances. Instead I will try to be thankful for them.

When Daniel starts to bang on the keyboard as as I try to type this post, I will turn around and hug him. I am so thankful that he is here and such a presence in my life.

When I look at the mess in the laundry room and the piles of clothes on the floor, I will thank God for so many clothes.

When David and I argue this morning because he wants pancakes and I want waffles, I will smile and say "pancakes" because I am thankful for him and for having choices in the food we eat.

These are only examples of the ways I have already been challenged with my feelings. It's hard to not get frustrated and I had to make a conscious effort to change my attitude but I want my heart to be filled with gratitude on this day.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”
- Colossians 3:16

May your day be filled with the joy of spending time with loved ones, great food, safe travel, and thankfulness.

Thank you for those beautiful reminders of all the things in life that we have been blessed with!

What a beautiful post! It is the "little" things that are the biggest things we should be thankful for!

Hey Jane!
We are coming home for a few days, but we won't be in San Diego :( Maybe on another trip when I have a little longer and less to do we can meet up somewhere in the middle!
